Dr. Dorsha

Dr. Dorsha has been a community-based emergency medicine physician for the last 9 years and has served in the capacities of Emergency Department Assistant Medical Director and Medical Director during her career. Following three rigorous years as the first African-American Female Emergency Medicine Resident at the prestigious Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Witnessing firsthand the rising cost of healthcare and its accessibility to rural and impoverished communities, she co-founded and currently serves as president of My Urgency MD, a telemedicine company that provides families a low- cost alternative to traditional urgent and non-emergency healthcare. She believes that her goal is to eventually provide “Equal access to healthcare for all, by any means possible”. She is a proud graduate of the University of Memphis and East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine.

Being near and dear to her heart, she also serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of a Nashville-based non-profit, The FIND Design, which was formed to provide mentoring, outreach, case management and parent engagement to youth who are growing up much like she and her sister did, in broken homes with little resources. Dr. Dorsha is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and New Covenant Christian Church.
